Menstrual health and hygiene continue to be a neglected subject in many parts of India, especially
among underprivileged communities. The stigma, lack of awareness, and inadequate access to
sanitary products often lead to serious health issues, missed school or work days, and diminished
confidence among adolescent girls and women.
International Women’s Day, celebrated every year on 8th March, and provides a meaningful
opportunity to raise awareness, break taboos, and empower women through education and access to
menstrual hygiene products.
