Suma Vidyalaya, the flagship educational initiative of Suma Blessings Foundation, is a community-based learning center dedicated to empowering children from underprivileged backgrounds. Designed as a bridge learning program, it helps students—especially those from government schools—overcome academic gaps and strengthen their learning foundations.
The center provides a safe, inclusive, and flexible environment, operating in three daily batches to suit different age groups and school timings. With a strong focus on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) and STEM education, Suma Vidyalaya nurtures essential skills that prepare children for a brighter, more confident future.
In India, despite numerous efforts, many children especially those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds face significant challenges in accessing quality education. Government schools often lack the resources to provide personalized attention, holistic development, and extracurricular learning experiences. Recognizing this gap, Suma Vidyalaya was initiated as an inclusive, small-scale educational program dedicated to nurturing and empowering students from nursery to 8th standard.
Our program primarily serves children enrolled in government schools, aiming to complement their formal education by imparting essential academic knowledge, life skills, and creative development opportunities.
The curriculum focuses on strengthening core competencies with practical and interactive teaching methods.
Training students in letter writing and speech preparation in both Hindi and English to build confidence and articulation skills. Encouraging students to participate in verbal and written expression activities to enhance language proficiency.
Teaching basic life skills such as time management, personal hygiene, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving. Emphasizing self-reliance and critical thinking through practical examples and activities.
Every Saturday is dedicated to activity-based learning to engage students creatively and physically.
Under this program, we have established the Dream Library at the centre, a dedicated bookshelf located at the centre. It houses fun activity books, storybooks, and educational resources. Primarily utilized during vacations (like summer holidays) to encourage continuous learning and reading habits. It aims to cultivate a love for reading and independent exploration among students.
Under this initiative we aim to focus on digitalising the concept of Schooling. By integrating digital tools into their learning journey, we aim to not only bridge the digital divide but also provide equal opportunities for skill development, exposure, and career readiness.
Suma Vidyalaya is directly contributing to SDG 4 – Quality Education by providing inclusive, equitable, and quality learning opportunities to children from marginalized communities.
We actively support SDG 5 – Gender Equality by creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for both girls and boys to learn and grow equally.
While the core focus is education, Suma Vidyalaya supports SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation by promoting basic hygiene and sanitation awareness among its students.
Through its focus on foundational education and skill-building, Suma Vidyalaya contributes to SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth.
As far as Educational programs are considered, we are very much active and resilient, regardless of the background of the candidate. SDG 10 focuses on Reduced Inequality among the communities.
