Rationale

True freedom is meaningful only when every child has the opportunity to learn with dignity, explore with curiosity, and grow with nourishment. Suma Vidyalaya, under the Suma Blessings Foundation, stands as a beacon for equitable education in low-income communities. As we celebrate the spirit of independence this 15th August, we commit to transforming classrooms into spaces of dignity and opportunity — through mobility (van), nutrition (kitchen), learning tools (desks), innovation(smart boards), and imagination (STEM kits). Each intervention under this campaign reflects our belief that Shiksha (education) is the foundation of real Swatantrata (freedom).

Causes behind the campaign

Children at Suma Vidyalaya come from underserved communities such as 16 A JJ colony, 12 Foota and Kakrola, where barriers like unsafe travel, hunger, inadequate infrastructure, and lack of digital or hands-on learning tools are everyday realities. Many students walk long distances, learn on dusty floors, or skip school due to hunger. Others, especially those with disabilities, are excluded due to inaccessible infrastructure. This campaign directly responds to these interconnected issues, by ensuring every child can reach, sit, eat, see, and imagine a better future through education.

Objectives

  • Ensure safe and inclusive access to school (Van + disability-friendly ramps)
  • Provide structured and dignified seating to 90 children (Desks)
  • Establish a centralized kitchen for daily hot meals
  • Equip the school with a Smart Board for 21st-century learning
  • Introduce STEM kits to nurture curiosity and scientific thinking
