The Need

For many women from economically disadvantaged communities, earning a stable income can be difficult.
Limited employment opportunities, financial constraints, family responsibilities, lack of skills, and limited access to productive assets can create barriers to economic independence.
At the same time, many women have the determination and potential to earn—but need the right combination of skills, tools, confidence, and opportunity.
Silai Se Samriddhi seeks to bridge this gap. We believe that sustainable empowerment begins by enabling women to develop a skill that can become a source of livelihood.

A 6-month program covering stitching, pattern making, garment finishing, and use of electric/manual sewing machines.

Who can enroll in this training program?

Any woman aged 18 years and above from marginalized or economically weaker communities who wishes to learn tailoring and start her own small business can join.

What is the duration of the training?

The complete training program runs for 6 months, including both theoretical and practical sessions.

Is there any fee to join the program?

No, the program is free of cost for eligible beneficiaries. All training materials and resources are provided by the foundation.

Where is the training conducted?

The training is held at the Suma Blessings Foundation’s Sewing Training Center, equipped with sewing machines and other necessary tools.

What kind of skills will participants learn?

Participants will learn cutting, stitching, embroidery, pattern making, fabric measurement, and basic business management skills to start their own tailoring unit.

Do participants receive a certificate after completion?

Yes, all participants who successfully complete the training receive a Certificate of Completion from Suma Blessings Foundation.

Will there be job or business support after training?

Yes, the foundation provides linkages for employment, guidance for self-employment, and support to form women’s self-help groups (SHGs).
