Creating Awareness. Supporting Women. Encouraging Innovation.
Suma Blessings Foundation organised a Breast Cancer Awareness & Women’s Health Session on 30 September 2026, with Dr. Shalu, to promote greater awareness and understanding of breast cancer and women’s health.
The session covered important aspects of breast cancer, including risk factors, symptoms, prevention, early detection, and the challenges women may experience during and after treatment.
Research for Women-Centric Solutions
A key highlight of the session was the presentation of an ongoing research initiative by students from Gargi College. The students are working towards developing an artificial/prosthetic bra for women who have undergone breast-related medical procedures or treatment.
The research focuses on developing a solution that is lightweight, practical, easy to use, and suitable for everyday life. Such women-centric innovation can play an important role in addressing practical challenges faced by women following medical treatment.
Awareness Meets Innovation
The session highlighted the importance of bringing together health awareness, research, innovation, and community support to address women's health needs.
It also provided an opportunity for participants to learn more about breast cancer and understand the importance of timely awareness and early detection.
Awareness creates understanding. Research creates solutions. Together, we can create meaningful change.
Special Thanks
Suma Blessings Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to Dr. Shalu for sharing her valuable knowledge and insights, and to the students of Gargi College for their dedication and efforts towards developing practical, women-centric solutions through research and innovation.
The session was a meaningful step towards building greater awareness, encouraging dialogue, and supporting initiatives that can contribute to the dignity, confidence, and quality of life of women affected by breast cancer.
