In the true spirit of Diwali — the festival of lights, joy, and compassion — Suma Blessings Foundation, in collaboration with S4G Foundation, organized a Dry Ration (Joy Kit) Distribution Drive to support underprivileged families living in the slum area of Baprola Vihar, Nangli, Najafgarh.
These families, living in extreme poverty, survive by collecting recyclable waste (kabaad) from the streets to earn a meager income for daily survival. Recognizing their struggles, this initiative aimed to bring a ray of hope and festive happiness to their homes.
With the generous support of Ms. Archita Agarwal (Trustee) and Mrs. Sudha Agarwal (Founder) of S4G Foundation, we were able to reach 35 families and distribute Joy Kits filled with essential food and grocery items — helping them celebrate Diwali with dignity and warmth.
Before organizing the drive, our team conducted a detailed field assessment across the Najafgarh area to identify the most vulnerable families. After visiting several settlements and engaging in one-on-one conversations with residents, we selected Baprola Vihar, where 35 families were found living in extremely poor conditions.
Most families in the area earn their livelihood through informal waste collection and manual labor, with irregular income and no social or economic security. The community faces severe challenges — from food insecurity to lack of education for children. During our interaction, many women expressed a desire for skill development opportunities to improve their family’s financial stability in the future.
The Diwali Joy Kit Distribution took place on 14th October 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Baprola Vihar, Najafgarh. The event was conducted in the presence of Ms. Archita Agarwal and Mrs. Sudha Agarwal, who personally interacted with the beneficiaries and helped in distributing the kits.
Each family received a Joy Kit, containing:
The joy on the faces of the families was truly heartwarming. Their smiles and words of gratitude reflected how a small act of kindness can illuminate many lives during festive times.
The event was made successful through the dedicated efforts of our volunteers and supporters:
1. Beneficiary Reach:
35 families (approx. 150–175 individuals) directly benefited through essential grocery support.
2. Community Impact:
The Diwali Joy Kit Distribution Drive was not just about sharing food — it was about spreading hope, smiles, and togetherness. Through the joint efforts of Suma Blessings Foundation, S4G Foundation, volunteers, and donors, the event truly embodied the spirit of Diwali — the festival of giving and light.
This upcoming festival, let's come together to celebrate the divine spirit by giving back to our community! 🤝 Whether it's your time, resources, money, or skills, every little bit counts and can make a world of difference. Join us in spreading joy and kindness, and let’s make this festival a true celebration of compassion!
