Reading opens windows to imagination, creativity, and self-expression. Yet, many children at Suma Vidyalaya have limited or no access to age-appropriate books beyond their textbooks. A library isn’t just a place—it’s a gateway to possibilities, a space where dreams take root. We aim to set up a small but vibrant library filled with storybooks, comic books, quiz materials, and activity-based learning resources to spark joy and curiosity in every child.

Causes behind the Issue

• Lack of Access to Books: Children from underserved communities often have no books at home and limited exposure to stories, creative writing, or leisure reading.
• Space Constraints: Many low-income schools function in compact spaces, leaving no dedicated reading corners or library areas.
• Funding Gaps: Resources are typically allocated to essential academic needs leaving little room for enrichment tools like libraries.
• Low Literacy Motivation: Without engaging, fun, and age-appropriate materials, children see reading as a task not as an adventure.
