Children from underserved communities often attend school without uniforms or proper identification, which can affect their confidence, sense of belonging, and safety. At Suma Vidyalaya, we are now recognizing the powerful psychological and social impact that visible identity can have on a child’s learning experience.

Causes behind the Issue

• Financial Constraints: Families prioritize essentials like food, rent, and healthcare—leaving no budget for school uniforms or ID cards.
• Lack of Institutional Support: Many informal or community-based schools do not receive funding or infrastructure support to provide uniforms or identity materials.
  Irregular School Attendance: Due to migration, domestic responsibilities, or seasonal work, many children attend irregularly, making investment in uniforms a low priority.
• Limited Awareness: Some parents and communities may not fully recognize the psychological and social benefits of a visible school identity for their children.
