1. Background
Suma Blessings Foundation, committed to community health, education, and empowerment, organized a Breast Cancer Health Awareness Program as part of its on-going health education initiative. Recognizing the rising incidence of breast cancer and the stigma, myths, and lack of awareness surrounding it, the Foundation saw a pressing need to educate women
and adolescent girls in the Dwarka community about early detection, prevention, and treatment options.
The session was led by Dr. Sarita Kumar, a renowned oncologist associated with Max Multi-Specialty Hospital, known for her extensive expertise in cancer awareness and patient-centered education.
2. Objective
The primary objectives of the program were:
- To raise awareness about breast cancer symptoms, risk factors, and the importance of early detection
- To break myths and reduce stigma surrounding breast cancer, especially in underserved communities
- To empower women with knowledge about self-examination techniques and when to seek medical help
- To create a supportive environment for open conversation on women's health issues
3. Execution
The event was held at Suma Vidyalaya, Dwarka Sector 16A, and was structured to be informative, interactive, and community-friendly.

- A comprehensive awareness talk by Dr. Sarita Kumar, covering:

- Prevention strategies and lifestyle recommendations

- Importance of early detection and available treatment options
- Q&A session where participants openly asked questions, many for the first time
- Light refreshments and an informal community discussion post-session
The session was conducted in Hindi and English to ensure understanding across all age and
education groups.
