International Yoga Day 2025 – Event Report
Event Objective:
The aim of celebrating International Yoga Day was to introduce students to the holistic benefits of yoga, promote physical and mental well-being, and encourage a healthy lifestyle from an early age. The celebration also intended to bring the community together in a shared experience of health, discipline, and mindfulness.
Event Highlights:
a) Guest Participation:
- Ms. Charu Shrivastava, a well-known social media influencer and youth motivator, graced the event as the Chief Guest. She interacted with the students and spoke about the importance of regular yoga practice in maintaining emotional balance, focus, and resilience.
- A professional Yoga Trainer from Inga Institute, Uttam Nagar, led the training session. Accompanying the trainer were three national-level child yoga champions, who performed and assisted in demonstrating various yoga postures with precision and grace.
Activities Conducted:
The event was structured in a way that made yoga both engaging and educational for the
children:
- Welcome & Introduction Session: The event began with a welcome address, followed by a brief talk on the significance of Yoga Day and its global relevance.
- Warm-up and Breathing Exercises: The session started with simple breathing exercises and warm-up stretches to prepare the body.
- Yoga Asana Demonstration and Practice: Children were guided through basic yoga postures such as:
- Tadasana
- Vrikshasana
- Bhujangasana
- Setu Bandhasana
- Padmasana and Pranayama techniques
- Advanced Yoga Demonstration: The three young national-level yoga athletes demonstrated advanced postures, inspiring the students to take interest and develop their skills further.
- Meditation Session: A short guided meditation session helped students calm their
minds and understand the value of inner peace.
- Motivational Interaction: Ms. Charu Shrivastava shared her personal journey and spoke about how incorporating yoga helped her stay grounded and focused, encouraging the children to adopt yoga as a daily habit.
Participation:
- A total of 76 students from Suma Vidyalaya and a few from the community actively
took part in the Yoga Day celebrations.
- Teachers and volunteers also participated in the session, setting a positive example for
the children.
Refreshments Distribution:
At the end of the session, all students were provided with:
- Fruit juice packs to rehydrate after physical activity
- Nutritious snack boxes consisting of fruits and dry snacks
Refreshments were distributed with the support of Suma Blessings Foundation volunteers, ensuring all students were served in an organized and hygienic manner.
Impact of the Event:
- Increased Awareness: Students learned about the benefits of yoga for physical health, stress relief, and improved concentration.
- Skill Development: Children were introduced to foundational yoga skills and postures they can practice at home or school.
- Positive Energy: The open-air session in the community park fostered a sense of community, unity, and joy among children.

Conclusion:
The International Yoga Day celebration at Suma Vidyalaya was a resounding success. It not only exposed children to the ancient discipline of yoga but also fostered a sense of mindfulness and wellness among young learners. The event reflects the school’s commitment to holistic child development through physical, mental, and emotional enrichment.
