Smart Class for Every Shift – Smart Board Setup at Suma Vidyalaya

Rationale

Suma Vidyalaya serves children from underserved communities, providing Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) education to 90 students in three shifts:

• Group A: Pre-Primary and Early Primary
• Group B: Grades 1–2
• Group C: Grades 3–5

To enhance their engagement, conceptual clarity, and 21st-century learning outcomes, the school aims to introduce an Interactive Smart Board in the shared classroom. The Smart Board will serve all three groups in a scheduled shift model. This single investment will enable rich STEM learning, audio-visual content delivery, and interactive pedagogies aligned with NEP 2020.

Need for the Smart Board

Traditional blackboard teaching, though effective, limits interactivity and imagination especially for early learners. STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) benefit greatly from visual models, real-time demonstrations, and multimedia content. Introducing a Smart Board will:

• Bring digital access to a low-income classroom
• Support visual and experiential learning for varied learners
• Allow integration of science videos, interactive math games, and digital storytelling
• Serve multiple groups using one resource

This Smart Board will be shared among 3 shifts (30 students per shift, total 90 children) at Suma Vidyalaya.
